A practical session on health and safety compliance in agriculture — and why it should be on every advisor’s radar
Presenter: Jonathan Giret, CEO - Elite Ag Solutions
Jon will break down what the Occupational Health and Safety Act actually requires of farm employers: safety policies and boards, mandatory training (WHMIS, violence and harassment, safety awareness), health and safety representatives and joint committees, PPE selection, and workplace audits. He’ll also cover the penalties for non-compliance — for individuals, corporations, and directors alike — and the real return a strong safety program delivers, from lower insurance premiums to stronger employee retention.
Jonathan Giret is the Founder and President of Elite Agri Solutions Inc., an Ontario-based agricultural consulting firm specializing in farm safety, regulatory compliance, and funding programs. With nearly a decade of experience working directly with farmers, agribusinesses, and industry partners, Jonathan is known for translating complex regulations and programs into practical, real-world solutions. He works closely with producers across Ontario to improve safety, access funding, and build resilient agricultural businesses.
